Ingredients:
350g plain flour
175g light soft brown sugar
100g butter
1 medium egg
4 tablespoons of golden syrup
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1½ teaspoon of ground ginger
Making:
Heat oven to 180 celsius / gasmark 5.
Put the flour, butter, ground ginger and bicarbonate of soda in a mixing bowl. Mix it together till crumbly.
Add sugar, syrup and egg and stir till dough-ey.
Grease three trays.
Roll out dough to about 5mm thick.
Cut shapes and place on tray.
Put in oven for around 15 min.
Decorate with icing ect.
